Cori Stratton loves her small‑town life and her candle shop, but when the building goes up for sale she risks losing everything she has built. The timing gets worse when Elizabeth Brennan, the popular girl who never noticed her in high school, returns home. Elizabeth’s life has fallen apart, and helping her mom run the family B and B during her ex’s week‑long wedding is the last thing she wants. To save face, she grabs the nearest person and tells the groom they are happily together. That person is Cori. Playing along gives Cori a chance to live out her old fantasy of Elizabeth as her girlfriend, and helping her survive the wedding feels harmless enough. It is only for a week, and there is no way a fake relationship could turn into something real.
